General problems of educational evaluation with proposed solutions

Image
The problems of evaluation in our school education are not limited to agreement on its concept or the nature of its philosophy and tests, but extend to more serious and fundamental areas, which are the inadequacy of its factors and executive plans. Let us address some of the daily problems that are felt in this regard. A- Weak competencies of the relevant parties to conduct evaluation in school education: As a directed school process, evaluation requires the availability of procedural competencies, the most important of which are the following: • Specialized academic competence. • Psychological competence: The teacher's knowledge of psychology, educational psychology, and the characteristics of his students qualifies him to choose and develop tests that are in harmony with their abilities and desires and are appropriate in terms of language and perception for the stage of development in which they live and for the needs and interests of the stage that preoccupy them. • Specialize...

The benefits of physical exercise and the harms of not practicing it by children

Image
Children are the most precious thing that the family and society have. Through children, the family and society continue ethnically, and they also fulfill many psychological, social, cultural and economic needs. In order to keep these children healthy and effective in their roles in the family and society, three prerequisites must be available for their growth during the first twenty years of life: 1- A complete daily diet.  2- Sufficient physical exercise daily or at least weekly. 3- Living a healthy life in its psychological, social and environmental health in the family, school, neighborhood and society.  It is noted globally (unfortunately) that individuals and societies do not engage in daily exercise for their bodies, which is reflected in the family and children with more diseases and physical disorders and the spending of large percentages of their financial income on obtaining treatment with medications that may sometimes harm more than they benefit.. Protecting the family from harm and danger, guiding them away from mistakes. Acting as the guardian and primary responsible figure, both inside and outside the family unit. Being a productive worker who can financially support the family’s basic needs, such as food, sh...

The Countenance of Info- Communication Technologies- Re-Inventing the Quality of Schooling Methodology

Image
Abstract Nothing sacred in regard of man-made education curricula and methodology. What is of ultimate priority for schooling is responding to students'  needs to grow civic, professional, innovative and effective national and global citizens . Digital information and communication technologies (ICTs) coupled with the overwhelming globalization movement have freed schools from its didactic teacher 'orator', static book- bound content and massive "Factory Model" methodology, to a new responsive approach where learners-paradigm and differentiated open-ended blended and online alternatives are widely practiced. As such profound educational developments have been tentatively materialized but many others are constantly flowing .  In lieu of ICTs, there will be no absolute place for one 'untouchable' learning text, sole teacher, one rigid classroom, one school location, one daily schedule, passive lecturing, or negligent paper and pencil summative exams. Facto...
